Name: Catriona Farac

Where Are You From?: Ireland now living in New Zealand

Age Group Category: 35-44

Occupation or Industry: Nurse

“Kara is amazing, she really is. Working in so many time zones with massive differences in baseline levels relating to different levels of fitness or different areas of strengths, she has been unbelievably supportive and dedicated.”

Sporting Background Prior To Joining The Tribe: Running, lots of running and boot camps. I have also done some adventure racing in the past.

Initial Goals and Events When I Started With Triformations: As simple as actually wanting to complete my first triathlon.

Did You Achieve These Goals and/or What Were the Outcomes?: So far so good. I have received so much guidance, support and inspiration. I have also really felt like part of a team and this was really motivational and encouraging.

How Did Triformations Help You To Achieve These Goals?: As above. I always felt 100% supported. Kara made it feel like she was always available and worked really hard for us.

What Are Your Top 3 Goals and Events As You Move Forward?: 1) Compete in my first tri in a few weeks’ time, 2) Continue to train and look forward to the start of the NZ season so I can sign up for some more, 3) Complete a 70.3 at the end of the year (I would really love to do this).

3 of Your Greatest Achievements So Far While Working With Triformations?: 1) Learning to ride a road bike, 2) Improving my swim and learning to breathe bilaterally, 3) More self confidence.

Most Embarrassing Triathlon Moment?: Nailing my first session in clip ins only to get back to my own driveway and fall off as I had I clipped the wrong shoe (right shoe I clipped and turned a sharp left).

When and Why Did You Get Involved With Triathlon?: I have always wanted to try one but was afraid to do it unsupported. I also love the idea of multiple sports in one setting and pushing yourself to learn something new.

What Do You Love Most About Triathlon?: It is certainly not boring. I love the variety in training.

Favourite Thing To Do Outside Triathlon? Do You Have A Hidden Talent?: Unfortunately no hidden talents. I love kayaking and SUP and I really love the beach.

Personal Mantra: This for me is an easy one.....”You only get out what you put it” As simple as actually wanting to complete my first triathlon.
